This is our new van – a Chevy Venture. It has everything I wanted in a van, and so many more extras than I’m used to. I absolutely LOVE this van!

How lovely! What a blessing!
I love the dark blue. ;o)
You asked a while back about Student of the Word.
Were you able to look at my post with the samples?
I find it a wonderful curriculum but it does take a little planning. Even if it’s not used for a full curriculum, I appreciate their ideas, methods, thoughts, and encouragement. I just love the idea of having God’s Word as our textbook!
We are using some of the ideas (some of them we did before we got the curriculum) and other ideas we have drifted away from, though I hope to come back to them. I’m not sure quite what y’all are looking for but if you have any specific questions, please feel free to ask.
Regarding any “words of wisdom” for new homeschooling mamas… I strongly encourage looking into the teaching methods of Charlotte Mason. They are gentle and gradual, aiming to develop a love for learning for a lifetime. There are MANY resources out there. I have a post with many links on my favorites blog: http://hskubesfaves.blogspot.com
That would be a good place to start.
I hope that helps some!
Bathe your homeschool in lots of prayer, asking the Lord what He would have you teach your precious ones and how He would have you do it. ;o)
If you ever have any more questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. *Ü*

By the way, Stephanie – there was a trick to opening that door. And the key was broken in it when we got the car.
What I think is hilarious is our Astro van is missing the handle on the driver’s side too. What is up with our handles I don’t know – but the handles on this new van better stay in tact. It’s really nice and it’d better STAY nice for a good long time!
😛 Stephanie! Too funny! And I am beyond thrilled to have a vehicle while Stephen’s at work again!
We are SO happy for you! It will make it a lot easier for ya. And most important does it have all the handles? 🙂 lol
That’s wild! I saw hers but didn’t think much of it being the same. When I saw her pic, it didn’t even register because we were still waiting to make our final payment to bring it home.
🙂 Did you know… that the York family and the Shaw family have the same exact van… same make, model, year, and color! They just bought theirs too! Check out Annie’s blog. Too cute!
