I went out this morning for another glucose tolerance test. It was something else. This time my doctor sent me for the two hour test. After the first half hour, I was convinced that the two hours would drag on forever! The nurse told me of a separate waiting room that I could pass my time in, and I was so thankful she had mentioned it. The main waiting room was so loud with people coming and going, and the tv blaring the weather channel. Eh. I started falling asleep in my chair (probably from the shock of all that sugar on my empty stomach), so I got up to walk around. When I came back, I went to the quieter room. I got my menus planned for the next week and few days, and finalized my shopping list while I was at it.
Whew. I’m glad it’s over though. I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to keep that stuff down. Oh well.
So now I wait until my doctor calls me back. I’m very curious what the results will be.
Thanks for asking, Beth. The instruction sheet I was given said 5 days, but I’m not sure if that’s 5 business days or not, especially with the weekend in the middle. Hopefully soon.
When do you get the results Melody?
Wow Rean – that would be nice to be able to leave!
I had the 2 hour test not too long ago. I chose to do it on “Black Friday” while my DH and loving mother were out shopping. I was pleasantly surprised when my wonderful father volunteered to come with me and keep me company. Because I had someone with me I was able to leave the lab and go shopping with my dad. They said as long as I wasn’t driving and was back at the allotted times I could come and go as I please. It’s nice you were able to get some things accomplished too!
With love,
Rean Day
