One reason I’ve been a bit scarce here lately is I’ve been working on a BIG project for my pastor’s wife. She publishes a newsletter for Pastor’s Wives called The Fruitful Vine Newsletter. Recently, she decided that she wanted to put it all online.

For the past few weeks, I’ve been working on designing the site for her and putting all the newsletters on it. The site isn’t completely done yet, but I am very happy with what is done so far. Hopefully it will be completely done in the next couple of weeks.

The Fruitful Vine Newsletter

Another related project is that our church (and the newsletter) is hosting a Preacher’s Wives’ Retreat next week. It’s for all ladies married to a preacher – whether they be a pastor’s wife, a missionary’s wife, an evangelist’s wife, or a preacher’s wife.

It’s been so amazing to watch as registration forms have been mailed in! There have been more coming in than we imagined would come, and it is getting so exciting!

If you’d like more information about the retreat, head on over to the Fruitful Vine Newsletter Preacher’s Wives’ Retreat page. If you’re interested in coming, you can download a registration form from that page as well.

I can’t wait to see how it goes!

Spread the love

  1. Oh! This is so fun! How neat that your dh surrendered to preach under Bro. Bill’s preaching. As I was reading the newsletters, I kept running across articles that Deborah had written, and I’m thinking, “This girl needs to start a blog!” But she won’t. She isn’t a computer person; I e-mail her all my blog entries so she can read them! LOL

My dh and Bro. South never met until after he and Deborah were married. When they first met, we girls were wondering how they’d get along. It was like THEY were the old friends and WE girls had just met! 😉 The Souths are just about the best folks in the world, and we love them dearly. I’m glad you’re getting to know Deborah!

  2. Susan, that is so neat! Bro. South has spoken at our church a few times recently, and it has been a real joy to get to know Mrs. South while they’ve been there.

And how’s this for a small world – my husband answered the call to preach one night when Bro. South was preaching at our church!

  3. I was very interested in the Fruitful Vines newsletter, and can’t wait to dig into it! Just out of curiosity (since I’m all the way across the continent!) I looked at the Preachers’ Wives information. Imagine my surprise and pleasure when I found my oldest, dearest friend’s name as one of the speakers! Mrs. Deborah South and I grew up together and have stayed in touch all these years. She is one of my very dearest friends. Now I really wish I could be there!
