Nothing shall separate me

The past few days I’ve been reading through Romans in my quiet time. This morning, Romans 8:35-39 really stood out to me.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 8:35-39

Nothing – absolutely nothing – can separate me from the love of Christ. No matter how tough things may get. I just love the reassurance that’s there.

It was neat to read about how God has adopted us as His children earlier in chapter 8 as well. After going through the adoption process to become a mother, this passage is even more real to me.

Romans is such a rich book to read through. There is so much to meditate on here.

  1. Oh I agree, Romans is amazing! And I bet going through an adoption would make that portion of Scripture even more meaningful! (o:
