Purse organizer

The other day I found this pattern for a purse organizer. I thought it was neat, so I saved the .pdf file to make it later.

Then I caved and made it yesterday. This is how it turned out:

The organizer before I put everything in it. Comb, lip balm and lip gloss, lotion, handkerchief, pens, checkbook, pocket knife, calculator and business card holder.

This is how it looks all rolled up. I can roll it several different ways though, to fit certain purses better.

The pocket with the handkerchief in it is wide enough that if I start carrying a cell phone again, it should fit. I didn’t measure my phone to make sure, but I don’t have cell service right now so it doesn’t really matter. My wallet is so fat that I didn’t bother making a pocket for it. This organizer rolls up small enough that there’s more than enough room in any of my purses for both the organizer as well as my wallet.

I ended up liking the pink and red together much more than I anticipated. There’s still about a half a yard of the pink left, maybe a little bit more. I thought about making a purse to match it, but we’ll see.

  1. Thanks, Christina! That’s all the motivation I need to go ahead and make that purse! *giggle* After taking a smaller purse out today to use, I do think I need one at least a little bigger. Or maybe it’s because I’m not used to the organizer yet – I fumbled with it a lot. Stephen was laughing at me. Oh well.

That does blow me away about the wedding invitations – how neat! I really enjoy reading your blog!

  2. thats pretty Melody. I”m gona go make a skirt to wear to church tonight. I’ll send you a pic. Have you ran across any patterns suitable to make layette gowns for infant demises? We need some at work. An elderly lady is making some but we need some smaller ones so I thought I might give it a try.

  3. What a great organizer. I’ve never seen one of those before. I like the material you used. I think it would make a great-looking purse, too.
Thank you for stopping by my blog today. It was very good to hear from you.
How funny that we had the same wedding invitations!
