Thank you

Just wanted to say a big Thank You to all of you who have been so encouraging with this weight loss. You’ve all been a big encouragement.

Lora, the weight loss started some time in August, when we were living with our friends. They eat far healthier than we did, so just living with them helped. They didn’t do all the cooking (we split it half and half), but it sure is hard to fix something deep-fried for dinner when their usual is baked, stir-fried, or grilled. Everything we ate before that wasn’t deep-fried, but we did cook a lot less healthy than we do now.

We spent Thanksgiving with my family, and my mom was so accommodating with food. Everything was as low-carb and sugar-free as possible. It was wonderful. While we were there, somehow I managed to maintain my weight, which was a big concern of mine. It can be done.

Kayla – I’m not too sure about the before and after pictures. Both pictures are ones that others have taken, and they haven’t sent them to me yet (yes, I’ve asked). There are plenty that I have that would work for before pictures, but I don’t have any recent after photos. My dad took some family pictures for us this weekend, but he hasn’t had a chance to email them to me yet. Once I get them, we’ll see. I’m not done losing weight – I still have a ways to go to meet my goal weight – so I had thought of waiting until I’m done to show pictures then. We’ll see.

Spread the love

  1. Congrats on the loss! I am still trying myself. I would love to see how you do your healthy cooking frugally myself. I bought a big ol bag of fruit from Sams and I want to make a smoothie with out use of yogurt. Any ideas I have never made one. Thanks for the good recipe Stephanie V.

  2. Melody, I can’t wait to see pictures of you!!! I am so proud of you, I bet you look great, even now! Cause I always thought how pretty you were!

You should see how big Abigail and Jasmine are!

I love your CHRISTmas look on your blog here! It is so beautiful!

Well I hope to here from you soon!

    Love and miss you terribly,

  3. It’s a horrible feeling, isn’t it? Ugh. That was one of the things that I just hated, was to get out a nice skirt or dress and find out that it was too tight. It was really discouraging to me money-wise too, knowing that just going out to get a new one wasn’t an option.

Frugal healthy eating has been a challenge for us, and that’s why I haven’t been posting about it much. I got so used to spending $30 to $40 and having that last for two weeks……and now it’s not uncommon for me to spend $60 for one week. I’m getting better at it, but I know there are areas that I can do better in still. Right now I’m averaging around $60 for two weeks, but some of that has been for holiday baking. I haven’t totalled it up completely – that’s just a conservative guess.

I’ll try to share how I’ve been doing this. . . but give me a little while to get it all put together. With the Christmas concert this weekend I’m not sure how much time I’ll have between now and then. . .

  4. Again- Good luck on the rest of it. I am so excited for you!! I need to get back in gear. It gets so expensive to eat healthy sometimes, especially when there isn’t much access to things like organic co-ops and such. I’d love for you to share how you do this frugally. Because I know you & I’m almost sure you do it frugally.?.? I put on one of my nicer skirts yesterday for a new church and was so dismayed at the fact that I could FEEL it around my bum & hip(pos). *sigh*
