High speed internet amazes me. This is so cool! I think I’m going to like this.
Last night, I figured I’d set everything up and see if the account was activated yet. In the process, I discovered that my ethernet card wasn’t working. Stephen had mentioned the other day that he thought it might have gone bad, so it gave me a place to start looking when things didn’t work with setup last night. Before I assumed it was my computer, I set things up on Stephen’s computer to see if things were really connected right. They were.
When Stephen got home this morning, I mentioned the ethernet card to him. Much to my suprise, he told me that we actually had an extra laying around. I was thrilled. We have a ton of spare computer parts laying around the house – a product of helping fix other computers and being given things. . .a bit of extra clutter at times. . .but it pays off to have the parts.
Stephen was so tired that he told me I could install the new card myself. So. . .I gingerly opened up my computer and went to work. I did it all by myself. :thumbup_tb: What an exciting feeling. . . :jittery_tb: now I know why Stephen likes to tinker with computers so much. I think he has a new helper, lol!
So now I have my always-on-never-miss-another-phone-call connection. I am very thankful for it!
Next task: figure out how to install the internet through our computer network. Now that I have a working network card, maybe we can get our network set back up. That would be cool!
Melody,
I remember when we switched, I was so amazed. I couldn’t believe how fast it was. But now, being human, I get impatient with it and wonder why it’s taking so very long.
Hope you have fun getting aquainted with it. What browser are you using?
In Him,
Lora
It’s pretty cool, huh?
We went from super-slow dial up to DSL. WOW what a difference! We love it!
