18 month doctor visit

Little man had an appointment today to get 2 vaccines and a flu shot. He hadn’t been feeling well lately, so I asked the doctor to check his ears just in case. Sure enough, he has another ear infection. My poor baby. It seems like every time he gets a cold it turns into an ear infection. Dr. Patel said that the one ear was definitely infected, and the other ear wasn’t far off.

I hate that Little man doesn’t feel well. And here I was thinking that he was just having an “attitude spurt.” We’re trying a new antibiotic this time. Hopefully this one will work better than the last one we tried.

He was a real trooper for me at the store though. We stopped at Wal-Mart for some groceries while we waited for them to fill his prescription, and he was really good. He was honestly a lot better than I thought he would be, given the pain he was in. He just sat there holding his ear – poor boy!

On the flip side – I found his Christmas present. :thumbup_tb: I didn’t buy it (I had a set amount of money for groceries today), but it was nice to look around and see what’s out there. I’m not 100% sure what all we’ll get him, but it was nice to get some ideas. I’ll need to be thinking creatively too – some of those toys out there are so expensive!

  1. That reminds me of when my now two year old got his first ear infection at 18 months. He would just hold his ears and cry. I cried a lot too because its so hard to see your baby suffering. I will pray for him (and you!). Our doctor recommended a warm washcloth and it did seem to ease the pain some.

  2. Oooh, poor little guy. Andrew had one after another like that until he got tubes inserted; then he never got another one. Hope he feels better soon!
