"Hurry up!"

Wow! Since my parents left Little man has been doing so many new things. Last week he started putting words together, like “my daddy” and “bye PaPa” and my favorite “shut it up” (more on that in a minute) and then today’s “hurry up.”

My little boy is growing up so fast! What am I going to do with him? He already pushes me away when I give him a big squeeze – I guess he’s already learning that getting a hug from Mama isn’t cool. LOL! But I don’t care. I like getting my Little man-hugs.

And today he kissed me on the cheek for the first time. I was carrying him into his room to put him down for a nap and he leaned over and kissed me. Awwwwww!

Well, I better explain the “shut it up.” I was trying to put a load of clothes in the dryer, and Little man walked into the laundry room to see what I was doing. He grabbed the dryer door, and said, “Shut it up!” and then proceeded to slam the door shut. I’m not sure where he heard that phrase, but he has been learning to shut doors lately. He can open them too if the knob is low enough!

Then when we were fixing dinner tonight Little man was pretty cranky, so we gave him a couple of graham sticks (thanks Grandma!) to tide him over until we were done. He polished them off, and stood at the counter just saying, “me me me me…….hurry up!” Stephen and I just looked at each other in disbelief. That’s one phrase I hope to not hear too often! LOL!

And yes, I know I’m behind on posting the pictures from this weekend. I’ve been busy. Things will stay pretty busy this week too. I have a new piano student starting Thursday afternoon. Yay! But I also got a call this afternoon…and I’m playing for a funeral early Thursday afternoon as well. I’m still trying to figure out if I need to juggle lesson times or not. The funeral’s at church at 2 – so I can leave church as late as 4 to make it home in time for my first lesson of the afternoon at 4:30. Then my new student comes at 5. I just don’t care to cut things that close, and with my lessons back-to-back, I don’t want all my lessons to run late.

Thankfully school hasn’t started yet, so as soon as I get to church for the funeral, Stephen can watch Little man for the rest of the day, leaving me to do my playing and lessons with no worries. That is a HUGE relief. And it will be a lot more fun for Little man that way too.
