Aarrgghhhh!!!! Look what we found not 15 feet from the front door!
Stephen was in the front yard showing the neighbor boy the baby bunnies. Stephen put them back in their hole to see if their mama would come back for them. I hope so! But I digress. Dakota all of a sudden just dropped his jaw, and when Stephen asked him what was wrong, he told Stephen to “look behind you!” That nest was as big as a basketball!
I’m very thankful though. I walk under that nest every single day – within 1 or 2 feet of it – to go get the mail. And I often have Little man with me too! Stephen had just mowed under it hours earlier! Dakota ran home and got a can of hornet spray that they had just used at their house. Stephen sprayed the nest, but it didn’t seem to do anything at first (duh….) so he sprayed it with gasoline and lit it on fire. Them buggers got mad then! Before you get all worried – Stephen was very careful when he was messing with the fire. Nobody got hurt. He was going to go back outside after dark and cut it down, but I don’t know if he ever did.
That thing scares me! I’m glad we found it and started getting rid of it!
